MOBITEL selects Webraska Navigation to launch its assisted navigation “m>navigacija”

Paris, France - December 18, 2007

Webraska is pleased to announce that MOBITEL has chosen Webraska’s “off board” navigation, for the deployment of its assisted navigation m>navigacija on mobile phones.

Following an invitation to tender and thorough studies, the choice of MOBITEL fell on the French editor Webraska. The keys to success were the quality of the navigation with the Slovenian cartography as support, integrating the Navteq data with the data of a local partner. Service is completely localized, enabling voice navigation and geo naming in Slovenian language.

In contrast to the traditional systems, Webraska´s patented “off board” navigation offers online automatic access to the most recent updates of the cartographic data without occupying additional memory space of the mobile phone.

“Thanks to Webraska, Mobitel m>navigacija service guides users safely and easily, with clear voice instructions in Slovenian and offers complete set of 2D and 3D maps, directly on the mobile phone of our subscribers”, explained Mitja Štular, Ph.D., CTO from Mobitel. “Webraska helped us incorporate the best maps for Slovenia from local providers with the top maps of other parts of Europe and this allows us to offer the best street coverage to all Mobitel subscribers”.

From a PDA or a mobile phone, combined with integrated or standalone GPS receiver, this solution allows in particular:

• To be guided everywhere in Slovenia (with the option everywhere in Europe) with the most recent maps
• To obtain clear and precise voice instructions
• To visualize the road to follow in 3D
• To enter easily a new address, either through direct keypad entry or free text input
• To search for an address among the mobile terminal contacts
• To memorize POIs
• To obtain a list enriched by practical points of interests: hotel, restaurant, petrol station, parking... closest to the actual position or a specific address.

The system also offers a choice of several additional parameter settings: to calculate the itineraries for pedestrians, to take or avoid toll roads, ...
