Vodafone Italy has offered mobile services in Italy since 1995. Vodafone Italy ranks second mobile carrier in the country with nearly 24 million customers at the end of 2005.
Vodafone Italy operates 8 call centers. Mid-2002, Vodafone Italy location-enabled its entire Directory Assistance services, giving all users access to traffic information, itinerary calculation and local search for a large array of points of interest ranging from gas stations hotels, and restaurants to health care centers. Vodafone Italy selected system integrator Hewlett Packard to coordinate the project launch and initiate the integration process between Webraska's geospatial technology and Varetis' call center data base management and CTI interface.
Today, Vodafone Italy's location-enabled Directory Assistance services are marketed under the CercaFacile 892000 brand.
Sensis, the leading Australian local advertising and commercial search business, has selected Webraska's SmartZone Call Centre Framework to power the location-based services included in its premium voice service Sensis® 1234 launched in 2004.
Sensis® 1234 brings together former Telstra Call Connect (12456) and Yellow
Pages® Connect service (12451), into a single operator-assisted service.
Sensis® 1234 operators now also have access to the extensive Whereis®
mapping database to provide callers with directions and proximity searches,
giving live spoken turn-by-turn instructions or delivering the information via
short message service (SMS). Sensis' Whereis® service is powered by Webraska's
SmartZone Geospatial Platform and the extendable guidance call centre features
within the SmartZone Call Centre Framework.
